AU: Whilst in a bar in modern day England, Clara’s favorite film comes on the television which just so happens to star the Doctor’s favorite actress.
“Oh, I love this film.” Clara muttered, eyes falling to a television set on the bar counter. “You ever see it?”
She spared a glance at the Doctor, who seemed momentarily confused before he smiled and turned around and then, as if on command, walked through a crowd of people and straight up to the television where he then froze. Clara’s eyebrows furrowed and she followed him before leaning against the bar to look at his face.
She let out a disbelieving laugh once she’d caught a glimpse. He looked at the actress as if he recognized her personally. She’d known the Doctor knew politicians and royals and all the greats, but she had subconsciously drawn the line at movie stars. Her eyes flickered between the screen and the alien’s face. “She a friend of yours?”
The Doctor laughed and Clara had never head such a beautiful sound. It was sad and joyful all at once, full of days gone and went and never came. Not taking his eyes off the screen, he murmured, “The very best.”
That was the day he told her the story of Amelia Pond.
